Our Heirloom redesign service allows you to transform existing gold and gemstones into something entirely new. Whether it’s a family ring, inherited stones, or unworn jewellery, we carefully assess, remove, and rework materials into a contemporary design that carries history forward. 

This process keeps precious resources in circulation and honours the emotional weight of what you already hold.

Timeline: Typically 8–12 weeks

1. Book Your Consultation

Complete our online booking form to share your inspiration, preferences, timelines, budget and a brief overview of what you would like to repurpose.

2. Initial Appointment

Join us in store for a brief initial appointment where you will sign over your heirloom pieces to our care, try on jewels from our current collection, and discuss possibilities with an experienced design consultant. 

3. Assessment and Gold Valuation

Our jewellers will inspect your heirloom gemstones to ensure they are able to be repurposed. We  will also document, weigh and value your gold if you wish to exchange it for credit. This process currently takes up to 2 weeks.

4. Secondary Appointment 

For your second appointment, we will refine your design, showing sketches and additional stones if required. 

3. Design Development

After we have confirmed your desired design we collaborate with our production team to provide you with a finalised quote. 

4. Confirm & Commence

Once you accept your quote, we require full payment or a 50% deposit to begin production. Your piece will then move into our workshop with a timeline of 8 to 12 weeks for production.

5. Collection Day

Your dream jewel is ready. Collect in-store or have us ship your sparkling new heirloom with secure insured shipping. All Black Finch pieces over $5,500 will include a valuation certificate from an independent third party.
